Proper Bumper Boat Tube Preparation and Care

·        Inspect tube for cuts and holes after unpacking if rough handling during shipment is suspected or visible.

·        Tube should be laid out flat and walls of the tube should be separated as much as possible before attempting to inflate.

NOTE:  NEVER PULL ON VALVE STEM TO SEPARATE THE TUBE, ESPECIALLY SIDEWAYS.

·        Maximum air pressure to be applied to the tube is 3 psi.  The tube will lose some air pressure after the initial inflating.  It is not because the tube has a lead, but it will decrease as the tube relaxes and stretches.  The air pressure will probably drop off to 2-2½ psi, which will be firm to the touch, but not hard.

NOTE:  It should be noted that each time the tube is inflated to the point of becoming hard, it will cause the tube to stretch.  Once a tube has been stretched out of shape, it will not return to the normal size.

NOTE:  The characteristics of a PVC bumper boat tube are that it will firm up when the temperature declines and loosed up when the temperature rises.

·        It is advisable that a low-pressure air gauge is used when inflating the bumper boat tube.  Air pressure greater than 3 psi could cause tube failure IMMEDIATELY.

·        The bumper boat tube is a vinyl product.  On a routine schedule (once a week) use vinyl cleaner to clean the dirt, oils and stains.  After cleaning the tube use a good vinyl protector and rub down the tube.

NOTE:  A clean and protected tube will look better as well as last longer.  If a tube is neglected until it is very dirty, scuffed, dull and faded it is almost impossible to refurbish to its original appearance.
